Job Description
I’m seeking a developer to create an API system for my car repair service in Germany. The system will automate the ordering of necessary maintenance parts when customers book appointments, thus eliminating manual ordering.
– Initial Focus: The API will primarily target maintenance parts like oil filters, air filters, and similar components.
– OE-Number Retrieval: A combination of both the manufacturer’s official database and third-party catalogs like TecDoc will be utilized for retrieving OE-numbers.
– Programming Language: The choice of programming language or framework for the API development depends on the specific needs of the project.
Your task will involve:
1. Making an API request per VIN of the car with the specified car part.
2. Processing the API’s response for the needed OE-numbers.
3. Conducting further requests with the OE-number to look-up parts from a European, preferably German, catalogue.
4. Gathering delivery information from third-party producers.
5. Ordering the cheapest deliverable part.
I’m open to innovative solutions and ideas you may have to enhance this project.
Ideal skills and experience for the job include:
– Proficiency in API development
– Experience with car parts and maintenance systems
– Familiarity with both manufacturer’s databases and third-party catalogs
– Ability to work with various programming languages and frameworks.
